I love capturing sounds that feel real and alive. Whether it’s a voice, a quiet moment, or the texture of a place, I aim to record audio that connects naturally with the story and the people behind it.
Boom Operation
Working with the boom is about finding the right balance — being close enough to catch every nuance, yet invisible enough to let the moment unfold. I enjoy being part of that rhythm on set, listening closely to everything that happens.
Sound Design
For me, sound design is a way to tell stories through emotion and atmosphere. I like to combine subtle details, textures, and layers that help each project find its own voice and feeling.
About Me
Juana Rubio is a Colombian-born sound recordist and sound designer based in Montreal. Winner of the Jury’s Special Prize at the Sennheiser Canada Contest in 2016, she has contributed to numerous film and television productions. Her work explores the creation of emotional and physical spaces through sound, a practice she continues to develop with her project Unspoken Silence.
